As per the proposal, the government will amend various sections of the UP Excise Act, 2010, and add a new Section 60 (A) for the objective. The measure would act as a deterrent to illicit liquor manufacturers. In July, 17 people died in Azamgarh after they consumed spurious liquor. The government argued the prevalence of illicit liquor not only caused harm to life but also dented the State's excise revenue. (more...)

The eyewitness said Scarduzio and Gemberling then jumped out of their vehicle and attacked the victim. Bailey was inside her vehicle, which was in the left lane of Little Road. A witness reported seeing Gemberling pulling Bailey out of the vehicle through the window. The video shows one of the attackers holding the victim on the pavement and hitting her over and over again. The Bloomington Police and Fire Departments both arrived on the scene at around 3am, and were able to quickly put out the fire. Police said he intentionally started the fire in the basement after the children were already deceased. The cameras also show Pamela Ringenberg awaking to the sound of the smoke alarm and searching for her family and cellphone. Home surveillance cameras show, prior to the fire, Eric Ringenberg concealing the family cell phones including Pamela's in a kitchen cabinet. (more...)
