The airstrike on the Al-Nusra leader took place a week after the Russian Defense Ministry confirmed that five prominent Al-Nusra field commanders had been killed in an airstrike in Idlib province in Syria. The ministry said the air strike was part of an ongoing operation to destroy militants who had launched an offensive on 18 September which had surrounded 29 Russian military policemen who then had to be broken out in an operation backed by air power. Police responded to active shooter at around 7:30 p.m. Officers heard shots fired. Suspect has gunshot wounds according to the Barberton Police Chief. There were schools in the general area, which were placed on lockdown as a precaution according to police.
