The tree will arrive at Rockefeller Center on Saturday, November 11. The Norway spruce will be cut down on November 9 and arrive in NY two days later. After the tree is taken down, it will be donated to Habitat for Humanity as lumber to build homes. The first Rockefeller Center Christmas tree was put up in 1931 by workers building the complex during the Great Depression. (more...)

As of October 2017, 43 of the licenses were for Manhattan venues. It's called the Cabaret Law, and it has forbidden dancing at clubs and bars that don't have a cabaret license. The organization also says that the law is unevenly enforced, and more often targets marginalized groups. Even many New Yorkers don't realize this ban exists, since it sounds pulled from one of those books of dumb bygone USA laws (you know, opposite the page on how it's illegal in Alabama to wear fake mustaches that ... The pursuit started in Cleveland and spanned 3 counties. A man called 911 and reported the boy's auto was swerving in and out of traffic and had nearly run several vehicles off the road.
