Fire officials said they received the first call of the blaze occurring on Allston Street about 10 p.m. The previous record for the day, set in 1896, was minus 2 degrees. The third-floor porch was "fully involved" at one point, Boston Fire Department reported, and flames were also seen on the roof. Mayor Martin J. Walsh came to the scene of the fire where BFD Commissioner Joe Finn briefed him. (more...)

They were being questioned in Letterkenny Garda Station under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act and they can he detained for 72 hours. Gary Donnelly was previously arrested and questioned in connection with the Donaldson Killing in September 2011, he was released without charge. Police say one man is dead and another is hurt after a shooting in Richmond's Hillside Court public housing complex. There have been no reports of any casualty so far. The fire was reported noticed first on the third floor of the sessions court. The fire was successfully brought under control by 8.30 am and no causalities were reported. At least four people, including two children died and five were left with serious injuries in a fire that broke out at a building in Mumbai's Marol last week. (more...)

Two men approached the driver of a Toyota Tacoma, brandished a handgun and told the man to exit the truck. Police say the suspect then got into the SUV and struck the woman and a nearby building before fleeing the scene. HAWCS was able to located the vehicle a short time later. He says that it's very unusual and remarkable to have three separate carjackings in one day in Calgary. (more...)
